Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) at The River Wellness Texas is our most supportive daytime program—designed for people who need more than a weekly session, but don’t need to live onsite. You’ll spend your days with us in a structured, engaging environment where we help you understand your patterns, build real tools, and start making changes that actually carry into your life outside of treatment. Then you return home or to your living environment in the evenings—so you can practice what you’re learning in real time, with support every step of the way.

Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at The River Wellness Texas is designed for people who are ready to keep moving forward while staying connected to their everyday lives. You’ll meet with us several times a week for focused, meaningful work—building on what you’ve already learned, strengthening new patterns, and applying real tools in real time. It’s structured enough to keep you supported, but flexible enough to fit into your work, relationships, and daily responsibilities—so the change you’re making actually sticks.

Family Support Services

At The River Wellness Texas, we recognize that when one person is struggling, it impacts the entire family system. Our Family Support Services are designed to give loved ones the understanding, guidance, and tools they need to navigate this process alongside the client. Through education, coaching, and supportive conversations, we help families make sense of patterns, improve communication, and learn how to respond in ways that support lasting change. This work strengthens the entire system—so clients are not returning to the same patterns, but to a more informed, connected, and supportive environment.

Outpatient Program

Our Outpatient Program at The River Wellness Texas is designed for ongoing support as you continue to build and maintain change in your everyday life. Clients typically participate in one group per week, along with regular individual therapy, creating space to stay connected, process challenges, and continue strengthening new patterns over time. You’ll also have access to psychiatric services when needed, ensuring that your care is fully supported across mental health, behavior, and overall well-being. This level of care offers consistency, flexibility, and continued growth—helping you stay grounded, connected, and moving forward.

How We Do it

Treatment Modalities

Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET)

NET helps you organize and make sense of your life experiences, especially when they feel fragmented or overwhelming. It supports you in creating a clearer, more connected understanding of your story.

Certified Sex Addiction Therapy

(CSAT)-Informed Treatment This approach addresses patterns around compulsive sexual behavior, intimacy, and relationships. It helps you understand the underlying drivers of these patterns and build healthier ways of connecting.

Psychodrama

Psychodrama uses guided role-play and experiential exercises to explore thoughts, emotions, and relationships. It allows you to work through experiences in an active, engaging way.

Art Therapy

Art therapy provides a creative way to express and process what may be difficult to put into words. It supports emotional exploration, insight, and healing through visual expression.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT helps you understand the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It gives you practical tools to recognize patterns and start making more intentional choices.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

DBT focuses on building skills for managing emotions, handling stress, and improving relationships. It helps you stay grounded and respond more effectively in difficult moments.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR helps process past experiences that may still be affecting you today. It supports your brain in working through unresolved memories so they no longer carry the same intensity.

Brainspotting

Brainspotting works with the connection between your brain and body to access and release deeper emotional experiences. It helps you process what may be stored beneath the surface, often beyond words.

Somatic and Body-Based Practices

We incorporate yoga, Yoga Nidra, and breathwork to support your nervous system and help you reconnect with your body. These practices build awareness, regulation, and a deeper sense of calm and balance.

Narrative and Identity-Focused Work

This work helps you understand the story you’ve been living and how it has shaped your identity. It supports you in making sense of your experiences and developing a stronger, more grounded sense of self.

Internal Family Systems Work

Parts-based approaches help you understand different aspects of yourself—especially those shaped by past experiences—and bring them into greater balance and integration.
